National Laboratory for Scientific Computing - LNCC

The National Laboratory for Scientific Computing - LNCC is a Brazilian institution of scientific research and technological development of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and Communications - MCTIC, specializing in scientific computing. It has its headquarters in the city of Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, since 1998, being the only one in Brazil. From its foundation in 1980 until 1998, it has been in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The purpose of LNCC is to conduct research in the area of ​​Scientific Computing. The research lines of the laboratory focus on interdisciplinary areas such as biosystems, bioinformatics, computational biology, atmosphere and oceans, environment and multiscale science. These lines of research support LNCC's areas of competence such as computational fluid mechanics, high performance computing, oil reservoir simulation, optimization and nonlinear analysis of structures, systems and control, numerical analysis of differential equations and analysis. of sensitivity.

LNCC is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm (excluding weekends and holidays).
